My new-in-box Makita 7¼-inch circular saw was in the garage and was lost in the fire. This was a reserve saw given to me as a Christmas gift by Crystal’s father, separate from the SKIL-brand circular saw also lost in the fire. The lowest comparable replacement quote documented from Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Amazon was $141.39, or $152.70 including tax at 8%. I replaced it for $150.12 including tax at 8%, which is $2.58 below the lowest comparable quote, and am requesting reimbursement of the $150.12 actual cost.
